Stepping up to the plate next, Miss Danielle Bradbery…& did she sure hit a homerun.
I first heard this song live at CMA Fest this summer and I immediately was obsessed. As a girl who was raised on sports, I can’t get enough of how Danielle wrote this song in sports terms. I mean is there any other better way to get through to a guy than sports? Nope.
And not only are the lyrics what I’m diggin’ on with this song, but the beat. This is the kinda groove I want to turn all the way up and dance around my apartment to.
If there’s a guy in your life that you want to step up his game, play this song for him and see if he can take the hint. I mean after all, it’s written in his language.
Is this a new version of Jake Owen? We sure hope so!
"Real Life" is the first single off Jake's new album due to be released later this year and it has people dancing awkwardly and singing at the top of their lungs.
The song is memorable and the tune is unforgettable. You are certain to have this Jake Owen jam in your head for days. Almost everyone I've heard mention "Real Life" loves it ; however, this single does have quite a few people scratching their heads. With a sound and funk like nothing he's done previously, Jake Owen has everyone wondering, "Is this a new version of our favorite country singer? Is this what his new record is going to sound like?" While we DO know Jake has a new album coming out later this year, we don't know if this is a good look into what we can expect.
After all, Jake did warn me [and the TL readers] this new little hit was funky, right?
The lyrics are catchy and depict what life is really like…pun intended.
Real Life was written by four of Nashville's best songwriters: Ross Copperman, Ashley Gorley, Shane McAnally, and Josh Osborne. Let's face it, with a team of writers with this much cred, how could a song turn out bad?

Tennessee native, Jackie Lee, has
followed up his debut single “She Does” with something designed
with Summer in mind. When I spoke with Jackie a few weeks ago we had the chance
to talk about why this new single is totally different than his previous.
“Well, “She Does” was
the perfect song for me to release first. It showed everyone who I was. But “Headphones”
is a song I just instantly loved. Benny Brown is really good about deciphering
out the songs and finding out which ones fit my style best, and Dustin’s
[Lynch] and Chase’s [Bryant] too. This song was one he sent over to me. I just
kinda loved it from the start.”
The
lyrics are memorable and catchy. They paint the scene and reel you in. “Headphones” is the kind of song that
gets stuck in your head for days and has you dancing along when it sounds
through your radios.

While
Jackie Lee did not write this song himself, he has tremendous respect for the
individuals who did. “Sherrie Austin, Adam Hambrick, and Brian
Dean are incredible. They know how to capture a moment with words. This
song is one that caught my attention from the beginning.”
This
song is perfect for summer but we warn you to listen at your own risk. This is
a single that will take over your thoughts and stay in your head for weeks.
Headphones is highly infectious and catchy.

for those of you that are curious, we also found out what might be in the cards
for Jackie Lee involving his future. I couldn’t help myself and possibly
mentioned how much I’d love to see him on a little tour with Maddie & Tae…
…BUT while that isn’t in the plans as of now, we can expect some shows. “We
wanna get out there as much as possible. I don’t like down time. I want to get
out on the road and hopefully hop on a tour or something. I just don’t think I
should sit around and idle.”
Sounds
like we can also expect some more new music from Jackie Lee in the future as
well. When talk turned to a full album, the excitement was mutual. I could have
went “off-record” and asked what songs he knew would be on there but I didn’t.
While I’m a fan of anything Jackie sings, one song has always been my favorite:
“Tell Me.”
“Tell Me is a song I
wrote so I appreciate you saying it’s your favorite. It’ll be on the record I
think. It’s one of my favorites too.”
We
finished our conversation by talking about a little city we both grew up in.
“I’ve got a little bit of work I hope to finish up tonight in Nashville. Then
I’ll probably head on home to see my momma.”
There
ya have it, a man with a catchy new single, an album in the works, and a bright future in reach, but a man who still finds time to stay true to his roots.
