SINGLE REVIEW: JILL & JULIA || CURSED

With a year full of highlights, Jill & Julia are breaking into the new year with a new single on their resumes. I was lucky enough to see these amazing gals perform during CMA Fest and fell in love with their fun personalities and unique bluesy twang.
The duo released their debut EP Wildfire in March of 2014 and are now ready to showcase their refined and matured sound in their new single released today entitled Cursed.

The single tells a story of a woman wronged by a man she caught red handed.
I know what you are thinking, Carrie Underwood tackled this topic in Two Black Cadilacs….wrong.
The idea behind this song differs from Carrie's hit.
Cursed tells of a women who "found the dirt on his hands, diggin his hole in the earth."

B U S T E D.

Caught red handed and this women is ready to call him out for his actions.

“He’s a wanted man
One who understands
How to get what he wants don’t you know
But he sold his soul yeah I'll have you know
His price is higher than any gold”

The overall tone of this single is much more matured than those of their debut EP. The mood is fateful and portentous and allows listeners the chance to pick up the eery hurt the song is made of.

So overall, this song is a jam.
Florida Georgia Line and Maddie & Tae better watch out…
…there's a new duo in town and they go by
