A Thousand Horses – SOLD OUT

I was so excited to find out that not only had the show been sold out, but that it was their very FIRST sell out.

I had come to know of the guys when they opened for Frankie Ballard on his Light ‘Em Up Tour. But this show at the Dusty was all them, 100% A Thousand Horses. There were no openers or fillers to warm up the crowd. Their set consisted of the majority of the songs off their new record Southernality [you can preorder your copy on iTunes]. They also threw in a couple covers of classic songs to get the crowd rockin’ even harder. A Thousand Horses only has one song currently out at radio, but you wouldn’t know it from the involvement of the crowd Friday night. There were folks singing along to every song that the band has released on iTunes as a part of their album preorder. I’ve gotta say I was pretty pumped to see that people are diggin’ the grooves from this group, since I’ve been a fan since that first show. They take me back to my childhood, growing up on Lynyrd Skynyrd records. I’m willing to make the assumption that anyone in the crowd who wasn’t sure about this group definitely became a fan after seeing them do their thing on stage. They know how to get the audience goin’ and at one point in the set, Michael Hobby even came out into the crowd to be more involved.

The guys have been getting their name out into the spotlight a lot more lately as they just played on the Today Show and were just nominated for the CMT Awards Group Video of the Year for their current single ‘Smoke’.

If you haven’t been to see them yet, they will be out on the Southern Style Tour this summer with Darius Rucker, Brothers Osbourne, and Brett Eldredge. I highly recommend taking a look at the tour dates and seeing if there’s a stop near you. If so, I suggest that you go and check this group out. Trust me, if you like country music [or if you’re a fan of southern rock] you will be diggin’ the groove that A Thousand Horses gives out.
