Concert Review

Let’s start this review off with the people who are Granger fans, if you know Granger you know that Earl Dibbles Jr. is his alter ego. You know whom I’m talking about // the guy with his overalls tucked in some boots, a white tank, barbwire tattoo and who the ever so popular motto; YEEYEE!
To the other “fans” (you know who you are), they are NOT two different people!
(I did hear people debating about this at the venue.)

With that being said…
Thursday night In the Venue (literally) the bus pulled up with YEEYEE on the front window, parked out front and the line wrapped around the building with 90% of the attendees in camouflage, boots, overalls and baseball caps, you know who pulled into town.
The COUNTRY BOY himself.
First show that Granger has ever done in Utah and boy, he did not disappoint.
Before the concert even started, Granger was bumpin’ George Strait from his bus & the crowd was getting their dip in their lip and their cold ones cracked.

But we have to have an opener, right? // Mr. Sam Shupak took care of that duty for us with a lot of great cover hits such as Boys Round Here & Cop Car, along with some of his own stuff. This was actually the first time I had heard Sam Shupak and I would say, I definitely recommend his stuff!

Onto the man of the night, GRANGER FREAKING SMITH // I have been a fan of Granger’s for years and I was beyond happy he finally decided to stop in Utah.
He put on a crazy show to a SOLD OUT crowd. (The good kind of crazy!)
With singing his hits such as “Bury Me In Blue Jeans” “Silverado Bench Seat” and my favorites “Country Boy Song” and “Country Boy Love”

His amazingly talented band also brought the house DOWNNNN with some guitar solo’s where I thought I was at a rock concert for a minute with all of the moshing. Props though. That was some amazing stuff, gentlemen!

What I wore: I sadly didn’t get a picture BUT I had just gotten off of work so I kept it simple with some dark blue jeans, boots and a black tank. I bought a YEEYEE beanie at the merch table and paired it with the outfit to complete.
Gotta keep it simple for a simple man’s concert, right?

The only downfall I would say of this concert is, should have had it held on the big stage instead of the little stage. (Venue, I’m directing that towards you, not Granger!)

If I had to rate the show, it would be a solid 12/10.
Granger, you and your band are welcome back to Utah WHENEVER.
& Please don’t take too long to come back!
